Consortium for the Arts 2017


Take your love of the arts further! The Consortium is designed to nurture the creative experience for students who have demonstrated excellence in the arts. From sculpture to musical theater, we have something for every creative mind. Consortium instructors are teachers and directors from area schools as well as professional artists and musicians working in their field.

The Consortium is open to all students, entering grades 5 – 12. Students are welcome from all school districts. Students will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis.

Curriculum choices include Main Stage Musical Theatre, Theatre Development, Art, Creative Writing, Band, Orchestra, Sculpture, and NEW Stagecraft. Please note your top three choices on your registration form. Main Stage Musical Theater, 50 students entering grades 7-12 will be chosen. For Theater Development, 20 students entering grades 5-6 will be accepted. Students interested in Main Stage Musical Theatre are encouraged to register early as these spots will fill on a first-come, first-served basis.

Consortium will take place, June 19-July 21, Monday-Fridays from 8:30am-12:30pm. For those looking for additional program time, please refer to pages 30-31 for ADC 1/2 Day Camp options.?Note: Programs will not meet on Tuesday July 4th.

During the final week of the Consortium, Music students present an evening concert. Art and Sculpture students prepare and present an art show for parents which includes the final projects of the Creative Writing class. Theater Development presents a short performance piece. Musical Theater students present three performances of a full scale musical! 

This summer’s program will take place at Upper Merion Area High School. All participants will need to provide their own transportation.
