Collections System
The Sanitary Sewer Collections System consists of approximately 130 miles of sanitary sewers and 11 pumping stations. The wastewater collected by this system is a mixture of residential, commercial, and industrial. The Collections System is operated and maintained 24 hours a day by its own on call crew. The township maintains all sanitary sewer lines, as well as sewer laterals from outside the curb to the sewer main. The township also maintains all 11 pumping stations, which pump the wastewater to either of the two Water Pollution Control Centers for treatment.

Municipal Industrial Pre-Treatment Program (MIPP)
MIPP is in charge of locating and identifying the industrial users in the township that use the sanitary sewer system to dispose of process wastewater. The township samples and inspects these facilities to monitor and determine compliance with its Industrial Wastewater Discharge Permit.
MIPP also examines self-monitoring reports and other notifications submitted by industrial users. It provides an annual report to the EPA which requires public notification of industrial users that have significantly violated applicable pre-treatment standards and requirements. It also develops and enforces local limits to control the discharge of pollutants by industrial users into treatment plants, and effectively enforce all pre-treatment standards and requirements.
