With the great success of our past smoke alarm blitzes,
we’re excited to announce the 2021 Smoke Alarm Blitz!
Every day, seven people die in home fires, most often because of faulty or missing smoke alarms. The Upper Merion Fire Department is aiming to change that by canvassing neighborhoods to install free smoke alarms, replace batteries in existing alarms, and educate families about fire prevention during the dates listed below.
- Saturday, September 18, 2021, Station 56 Bravo – Swedeland Area
- Saturday, October 16, 2021, Station 56 Alpha – King of Prussia Area
- Saturday, November 13, 2021, Station 56 Charlie – Swedesburg Area
You do not have to take any other action. If you are not available on that date but still want to participate, or if you have any questions about special needs alarms or anything else related to smoke alarms, a special hotline has been set up for questions: 484-636-3945.
If you’d like more information, contact Bill Daywalt, Deputy Fire Marshal, at 610-205-8554 or bdaywalt@umtownship.org.
Thank you to our Smoke Alarm Blitz supporters!
